A shout out to all my ladies out there;

Hello my beautiful ladies! It's been a while and because of that very reason, I am not going to talk about beauty stuff today. Instead, I am going to talk about something that is very familiar and yes it is important for us to know about which is the Cervical Cancer. Horror, I know. So, before I get any further of what I'm about to tell you ladies, let me briefly tell about what exactly is the Cervical Cancer.

"Cervical cancer is a disease in which cells in the cervix grow abnormally. About 99.7 per cent of cervical cancer cases are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).Vaccinating against cervical cancer may reduce deaths by as much as two-thirds.It is the third most common cancer among Malaysians and should be stopped. "

Now, that you know briefly about Cervical Cancer, I believe you have the rough idea of what it is right? And not to forget how harmful it can be if you are infected by this cancer? Worry not, ladies! I have a great news for you regarding this matter. It is better to prevent than to cure, right? So, there is a solution for us to prevent this from happening which is the HPV Shot. As I mentioned earlier, HPV stands for Human Papillomavirus and needless to say of how terrifying this can be if we were to get infected.

And because of this very reason, the HPV Vaccination Program (PVHPV) is initiated by Population and Family Development Board Malaysia (LPPKN) under the prevision of Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM). The main objective for this vaccination program is to reduce the load of disease as a cause of Cervical Cancer for the next 20 years to come. There are three goals for this vaccination programme :

  • To administer HPV vaccination to all women born in 1993 to 1995 that belongs to the "catch up group."
  • To protect Malaysian women from the risk of HPV infection.
  • To lessen the risk of cervical cancer among women in Malaysia.

"How much will it costs me to get the shots? Where can I get the shots?" This is the exciting part. You do not need to pay for anything, ladies! YES, it is 100% free of charge. Now, who's gonna give you free stuff right? Of course, this only applies to the women born in 1993-1995 only. (This is for the free shots part.) Besides that, under the government initiative from 2nd October-16th November, LPPKN will be going to Universities in Klang Valley, Sabah and Sarawak to give out free vaccine to all selected Universities students. The vaccination programme will start at 9am to 4pm. And here, I will include the schedule for the vaccination programme :

  • Taylor's University College @Syopz  - 2nd October 2013
  • Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (Pintu 1) -  9th October 2013
  • Universiti Putra Malaysia (Bukit Ekspo) -  26th October 2013
  • 1 Borneo Mall -  16th November 2013
  • UniMas Sarawak -  14th November 2013

If you have missed the two dates above, you are welcome to get the shots at the other 3 selected dates mention above. And the nearest one that you can come and get the free shots will be on the 26th October at Universiti Putra Malaysia, location Bukit Ekspo. Apart from the roadshow, eligible participants can also receive the HPV vaccination at any one of the 58 LPPKN Nur Sejahtera clinics or health centres at public universities nationwide. Come and get your free shots ladies!

After you have completed all three doses, you will also be given a pass to a concert with locally-renowned artistes that is scheduled in the second quarter of 2014. (2nd March 2014) How exciting is that ladies? Here's another fun part that I'm sure you wanna hear. *drum rolls*

"In the immediate, participants from each university or college who register to vaccinate in a group of five or more will be eligible for a lucky draw, with the prize being a fully-sponsored Girls Day Out session. (The destination of full expense paid Girls Day Out will be a secret but we promise it will be something really fun )"

What are you waiting for? Nobody's gonna give you free stuff and it's beneficial for you. If all these explanations are not enough, read this.

"The National Cancer Registry in 2007 reported that as many as 847 new cases of cervical cancer were detected. This means that on average, about two to three new cases were confirmed every day. Cervical cancer is the third most common cancer affecting Malaysian women." If you have any further inquiries, you can log on to facebook and like this page, Click here

I have done my part, have you? Let's protect ourselves and love ourselves better. Shall we ladies?

Haul : Elianto

Hey beauty ladies! *spreading out love and kisses* For this post, I am feeling a little bit more excited because I love doing haul posts. Too bad, as a student my financial flow is not that excellent and I have restrictions on buying things. *weeps in the corner* But hey, that's fine. Okay okay, I don't want to drag this any further, let us look at the pictures first okay?

Presenting...

The items!

Back of the loose powder and single eyeshadows.

The code of the lipstick.

So sexy..

So cheap yet so good.

Such a pretty colour.

Makeup remover.

Swatches of the lipstick and lip liner.

Swatches of the eyeshadows.

As you can see above, I got myself few things from Elianto and I bought all of these when they had a massive sale during the 3rd Aidilfitri. HEHE. I got myself the loose powder and I've always wanted one and now I am a happy girl! The loose powder is in the formula of natural mineral and I'm in the colour, 03 Neutral Beige. It is a little bit darker for my skin tone but that's fine because usually after I put on my foundation, I'll look slightly pale and this loose powder helps me to balance my skin tone. And it comes with a puff but I don't use it. Instead, I use my kabuki brush for the loose powder.

Next, I managed to grab two single eyeshadows and the ones that I bought is in 06 Midnight Blue from the Splendour Shadow collection and it has matte finish to it. The second one is in 08 Fairy Purple from the Sheen Shadow collection and it has the touch of shimmers to it. How I use it? For the Midnight Blue, I usually will use it at my crease and to give definitions to my eyes. It works like magic for the crease and the outer corner of your eyes. I love it! For the Fairy Purple, I will use it on my brow bone, or the inner corner of my eyes to make me look like a fairy. :p It has shimmers so I do not want to use it too much because it can be quite overwhelmed on my eyes.

And of course, my ultimate goal when I saw they had the sale was to get myself a red matte lipstick. The one that I bought does not have matte finish to it but I'm okay with it. It is red, the exact red that I've always wanted. I will wear it with the lip liner in the same colour which is in the code of Burgundy. I will use the lip liner on my lips and top it off with the lipstick. The lipstick has the moisturising effect and it is not too overwhelmed. The next one that I got is the makeup remover. Actually I did not buy the makeup remover together with the other items during the sale. But I bought it during the other sale and I got it for only RM12! I must be crazy if I didn't buy it.. I only had the chance to try it once and so far so good. :) The other two items that I got are the brushes. Foundation and flat blending brush.

The prices for each item :

  • Natural Mineral Loose Powder- From RM33+ - RM16 (sale)
  • Lipstick - I couldn't recall the prices. But it was less than RM20.
  • Lip liner - Same thing, but I'm pretty sure it was less than RM10.
  • Eyeshadows - The eyeshadows are already cheap so you can just buy it at any time. :)
  • Makeup remover- From RM59 - RM12 (sale)
  • Brushes - Both of them cost me less than RM20.

Until next post, stay tuned beauties!

Review : Eyeliner (Maybelline vs Essence)

Hi hi hi hi everyone! *hyperventilating* I am so excited to be back here and writing a post for you beauty princesses. As my title above, in this post I'll be doing a short review on eyeliners. Eyeliner is indeed a very very very essential/must have item for every girl out there. You may not need blusher or mascara but you need an eyeliner. Eyeliner can do wonder to your whole look and trust me ain't no girl looking hideous wearing eyeliner. :P Okay, so for the review, I'll be comparing two eyeliners that I have in my collection. One is my ultimate favourite and the other one is the one that I really dislike. Before we start with the comparing session, allow me to include two pictures alright?

Above : Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner.
Below : Essence Superfine Eyeliner pen.

Swatches : Above- Maybelline
              Below- Essence

First, let's talk about the packaging. I really love the Maybelline's packaging because it has the touch of gold and I am a sucker for gold colour. For me, it symbolizes the wealth and fabulousity.*vaining* And of course, both of these eyeliners are in the colour of black and black always make things look sleek and sexy. So, the packaging is okay for both of the eyeliners.

Next, is the tip of the eyeliner. Both of them are in the form of pen. You can handle them like you're holding a pen and you're good to go. BUT, the tip for the Maybelline is really good. It glides well on your eyelid and I enjoy using this eyeliner. For the Essence, the tip is hard and long (too long for my own preference) and that's why I don't like it. It's hard for me to handle and it doesn't glide well on my eyelids.

And the last one, is the water resistance. Both are in the waterproof formula which is good and we all want that right? BUT, here lies the problem again with the Essence. It is waterproof and too hardcore. It takes minutes for me to get rid just the surface of the liner. Even after I'm done with the cleansing part, there's still leftovers of liner on my eyelids thus makes me feel irritated. On the other hand, the Maybelline liner works well with water/makeup remover. It is waterproof but you can take it off easily and that's what us, Muslim women want because that'd make our job easier when we want to take our wudhu'. :)

To tell you of how much I love love love Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner, this is my 2nd purchase because I finished the first one. Essence is a cheaper choice but I will not repurchase it. You can get the Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner at any drugstores available at your place for only RM23.

Until next post, stay tuned beauties!
